May 2011 - Each spring my brother Jim joins a group of men for a "Boys Trip" to the Bahamas. Originally they visited an island in the Exuma chain owned by the family of one of them, Steve Mitchell. Later on Howie Mills bought a house on Eleuthera, and the boys congregated there.
I visited them just after I bought the boat in 2005, and took them for a day sail. This year seven Boys gathered at Howie's and I arranged to sail them 45 miles to visit Steve's family island, named Saddleback Cay, for a sailing, fishing, spearfishing adventure. Howie's brother Jeff took his outboard sportfisherman as a buddyboat.
We had a wonderful, nostalgic time visiting the Mitchell Family homestead: diving, fishing (we caught 7 Mahi Mahi), spearfishing, and snorkeling. As you can see in the photos, we had great camaraderie and fun, fully enhanced by Kalik, the local Bahamian beer, and the culinary mastery of Steve and Howie.
