Sailing with Stephanie Rockland, Maine to Lockeport, Nova Scotia
July 18-20, 2011 – Stephanie flew to Rockland, MA to help me sail the boat to Lockeport, Nova Scotia, where she owns a summer home. Sailing across the Bay of Maine, which adjoins the Bay of Fundy can be tricky, because of large tides and treacherous currents.
The beginning of our trip involved successfully dodging numerous lobster buoys. With little wind, we motored most of the 175 miles, had favorable currents and were met by a school of dolphins welcoming us to Nova Scotia.
