Sailing Past NYC to Stamford, CT with my Son, Terry
June 10, 2011 – I next headed north to my brother Nick’s house in Stamford, CT. He owns a house in Dolphin Cove with a dock. My son Terry, who is an excellent sailor, offered to help me on this 50-mile sail.
We left Sandy Hook, sailed under the Verranzano-Narrows Bridge and past the Statue of Liberty, where we took a number of posed photos. We then motored past lower Manhattan and up the East River, under the city bridges and past the UN Building. Unfortunately, my camera battery failed as we past the South Street Seaport, so our photos are limited.
It was wonderful sharing this time with my son and I look forward to sailing with him more often.
